Wembley's turf was widely criticised following the playing of American football on the pitch. Well as the saying goes, in for a penny, in for a pound and somebody decided that what the turf really needed was for a race track to be built on it. So on a very cold December day Wembley Stadium played host to the Race of Champions or perhaps more fitting, competitve lunacy as world famous drivers (including Michael Schumacher) from all sorts of motorsport disciplines competed in various stock vehicles to be the fastest around the track. As well as the main events we also enjoyed Jenson Button stalling his F1 car around the track and spectacular motorbike acrobatics.
